Deanna Belleny Lewis MPH, RDN

Deanna Belleny Lewis is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and Public Health Practitioner currently living in Oakland California . She is the co-founder of Diversify Dietetics, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the racial and ethnic diversity in the field of nutrition by empowering nutrition leaders of color. She additionally works as a public health consultant at John Snow Inc in Berkely. Deanna is passionate about creating system-level changes that positively impact health and advance equity for Black and Brown communities. Rich Bertrand

Rich is an LA based wellness entrepreneur, former Chef and marketer. Born in Jamaica, raised on a boat in the Caribbean and East Coast. The love of good food led him to the culinary world; the need for a healthier lifestyle led him to natural foods. After 15 years he left the culinary world for marketing in the natural foods industry. In the years working in nutrition with Whole Foods market he began mentoring small local businesses for the Mid Atlantic local forager program. Following a successful marketing career building emerging brands in the natural foods space, Nija Wellness was created in 2020. While working on creating a beverage and wellness brand, he continues consulting in the natural food space. Off days are usually spent on a bike, roller skating or in the ocean. 

Pia Schiavo-Campo

For the last decade, Pia Schiavo-Campo has been authoring a blog called Chronicles of a Mixed Fat Chick that empowers women to take up as much space as they damn well please. As a self-identified fat woman of color, Pia uses an intersectional approach to explore a myriad of subjects including race, equity, mental health, motherhood, and conventional notions of beauty and health. She is also a partner and brand strategist with the social impact firm, Momentum Solutions Team, which develops stories and strategies that spark change. Her strong suit is connecting people to a common language and to skills they can use to better communicate with each other and the world.

Jennifer Anderson

Jennifer Anderson is a registered dietitian, and the founder of Kids Eat in Color – a public health company that is helping get kids on the path to eating better without the mealtime battles. Their team of registered dietitians, occupational therapists, pediatricians, psychologists, educational specialists, and researchers leads evidence-based child nutrition and feeding education for parents, healthcare professionals and educators.

Jennifer has a master’s of science in public health from the Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She consulted the USDA on national SNAP-Ed resources, managed USDA child feeding programs at a food bank, and worked on food access research in low resource urban neighborhoods.

Jillian Semaan

Jillian is the Director of Food and Environment at EARTHDAY.ORG where she focuses on addressing the impact animal and industrial agriculture has on self and planet. She is an advocate for human and planetary health and is focused on solutions like plant-based diets, regenerative agriculture and sustainability. She has also spent much of her career committed to diversity, equity and inclusion. Previously as an appointee in the Obama Administration she served as Chief of Staff of Civil Rights at the United States Department of Agriculture where she worked with farmers of color on discrimination settlements and created and implemented government initiatives that were focused in underserved communities, low-income areas and food deserts. She believes in connecting food with the environment, educating consumers and brands around plant-based diets, alternative proteins, regenerative agriculture, food security and soil health. She also serves on the board of Fairtrade America. 

Claudio Rodriguez

Claudio is a migrant, OG (Organic Gardener/Gangsta) – environmental justice organizer in Tucson, Arizona. He works with the homies greening the neighborhood – He has over ten years of community organizing experience in migrant, environmental and food justice issues. Claudio has helped develop school garden programs throughout the southwest that cultivate outdoor learning spaces that foster respect and advocacy for a just food system.

Grace Saavedra

Grace is the Farm Community Engagement and Advocacy Coordinator at Las Milpitas Community Farm and also works for a local non-profit as a conservation educator, concerned with giving traditional ecological knowledge the value it deserves and fostering earth stewardship in children and adults. Her goal in her professional and personal life is to advocate for her communities and empower them with the knowledge and the tools needed to keep growing and improving and to cultivate truly reciprocal relationships with our Mother Earth.

Korsha Wilson is a New Jersey-based food writer and host of A Hungry Society, a podcast that takes a more inclusive look at the food world. 

Jonathan Kung

Jonathan Kung started his culinary career doing pop up’s in Detroit around 2009 and has bounced around the city’s culinary scene while maintaining his own secret studio/kitchen until the pandemic. He’s since shifted gears to content creation with the intention of encouraging people to cook creatively and to express themselves through their food. 




Jenny Dorsey

Jenny is a professional chef, author and speaker specializing in interdisciplinary storytelling fusing food with social good. She leads a nonprofit community think tank named Studio ATAO and runs her own culinary consulting business. She has written for outlets such as VICE, Eater, Washington Post, Food & Wine and Narratively and often speaks on the topic of food and identity. Nzingah Oniwosan

Yes baby I Like It Raw was founded by a Nzingah Oniwosan, a holistic health consultant and plant-based chef, as a means to help people tap into their raw potential and “process the unprocessed life.” Nzingah who is also an interdisciplinary artist approaches cooking as an art form, she states, “The plate is my canvas which I transform into an art piece by mixing and blending different vegetables, fruits, herbs, and spices.” Her Haitian Heritage and her love of different cultures influence her culinary portfolio. Her mission is to inspire people to take charge of their health through nutritional therapy.

Tanorria Askew

Tanorria Askew is a chef, podcast host and cookbook author. Her credentials are simple: she comes from the
“Culinary Institute of Her Parents & Grandparents.” An avid home cook turned chef, she launched Tanorria’s Table right before a 2016 appearance as a contestant on MasterChef season 7, where she walked away as the fourth best home cook in America and a true “master” of shrimp & grits in the eyes of Gordon Ramsey.

In January 2021 she launched a podcast, Black Girls Eating, with co-host Candace Boyd where they celebrate sisterhood, food, and Black culture. Later that year she was honored on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 List. Her first cookbook, Staples +5: 100 Simple Recipes to Make the Most of Your Pantry, published by Penguin Random House and DK, will be released in November 2021.

Anusha Wijeyakumar

Anusha has over 15 years of international senior management experience working for Fortune 50, 100 and 500 global corporations, social justice non-profit organizations & private companies in three continents. She holds a BA, MA, Diploma in Mentoring, Certified Professional Life Coach qualification, Yoga Teacher E-RYT and is a Meditation Practitioner. Anusha is a Guest Lecturer at San Diego State University on Yoga Philosophy, a Contributing Editor at Yoga Journal, the world’s largest Yoga magazine, a Faculty Member with Off The Mat and a community partner with the Yoga and Body Image Coalition. Anusha is also a Teacher and Presenter at Kripalu, North America’s largest Yoga Center and Retreat, and Ambassador with Yoga International.

Mita Mallick

Mita Mallick is a corporate change-maker with a track record of transforming businesses.  She gives innovative ideas a voice and serves customers and communities with purpose. She is currently the Head of Inclusion, Equity and Impact at Carta and formerly was the Head of Inclusion and Cross Cultural Marketing at Unilever.  She has had an extensive career as a marketer in the beauty and consumer product goods space.  Mallick is a LinkedIn Top Voice, a contributor for Entrepreneur and Harvard Business Review, and her writing has been published in Adweek, Fast Company and Business Insider.

Bryant Terry is a James Beard & NAACP Image Award-winning chef, educator, and author renowned for his activism to create a healthy, just, and sustainable food system. He is editor-in-chief of 4 Color Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House and Ten Speed Press, and he is co-principal and innovation director of Zenmi, a creative studio he founded. Since 2015 he has been the Chef-in-Residence at the Museum of the African Diaspora (MoAD) in San Francisco where he creates public programming at the intersection of food, farming, health, activism, art, culture, and the African Diaspora. His forthcoming collection of recipes, art, and stories entitled Black Food will be published by 4 Color Books/Ten Speed Press in the fall of 2021. In regard to his work, Bryant’s mentor Alice Waters says, “Bryant Terry knows that good food should be an everyday right and not a privilege.” San Francisco Magazine included Bryant among 11 Smartest People in the Bay Area Food Scene, and Fast Company named him one of 9 People Who Are Changing the Future of Food. 

Vegetable Kingdom, Bryant’s fifth book, was published by Ten Speed Press/Penguin Random House in February 2020 in the midst of a pandemic and went on to be a commercial and critical success winning an NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Literary Work), being nominated for an IACP Award (Health & Nutrition), and being named one of the best cookbooks of the year by The New Yorker, The Washington Post, Vogue, San Francisco Chronicle, Forbes, Food & Wine, Salon, Garden & Gun, Delish, Epicurious, and others. His book, Afro-Vegan, was published in 2014. Just 2 months after being released, it was named one of the best cookbooks of 2014 by Amazon.com. Afro-Vegan was also named one of the best vegetarian cookbooks of all time by Bon Appétit. That December it was nominated for an NAACP Award in the Outstanding Literary Work category. Bryant is also the author of the critically acclaimed Vegan Soul Kitchen: Fresh, Healthy, and Creative African-American Cuisine, which was named one of the best vegetarian/vegan cookbooks of the last 25 years by Cooking Light Magazine.
